Description
The Media Services Group, Ltd. is seeking a highly organized, task-oriented and self-motivated individual to join our customer service department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, will be assertive, outgoing and friendly and will work well under pressure. An intermediate level of comfort with computers, computer software and software troubleshooting is required.

Accounting experience in the publishing industry is preferred.

Some travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities
Consulting and Implementations:

  • Consult with new clients during implementation as it pertains to Accounting Products, working closely with project manager.
  • Assist new/existing clients with changes to their accounting structure and procedures.
  • Work with programming staff on development and testing of modifications to Accounting Processes.

Training:

  • Training may be done via web and conference calls.
  • Training may be done on site, requiring Specialist to travel to client offices.
  • Training may be done for existing or new clients, and may be scheduled during implementation, after an upgrade or based on the client’s need at any other time.
  • Train/assist support staff on accounting related issues.

Customer Support: usage questions, software enhancement requests, data questions or software bugs.

  • Review issues with client and gather any additional information needed to make sure the question or problem is clearly understood.
  • Work with programmers and other support staff to assist in issue resolution.
  • Communicate clearly to clients, both verbally and in writing, keeping them informed of the status of their support request.
  • Build relationships with clients, get to know their business and provide suggestions for better use of the system.
  • Identify training needs based on service requests, client questions or errors.

Application Testing

  • Assist with new release testing as needed.
  • Each new release will require testing in all areas.
  • Assignments and expectations will be reviewed as needed.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrable computer software and software troubleshooting skills
