Why the change in format this year?
The new format is based largely on feedback from you, our customers. With the economy still questionable, many companies are cutting back on expenses, and conference budgets seem to be one of the first things to go. By hosting a more focused, one-day conference we are able to offer much of the same value of the full User Group conference and a greatly reduced expense.
I see there are two conferences in New York (one for Book and one for Magazine) – Should I attend both?
On Monday, we will be hosting our one-day conference for Magazine Publishers. We will be running two concurrent tracks for this conference, one for Advertising Products and one for Circulation Products. On Tuesday we will be holding a one-day conference, with one track, for our Book Publishing Products.
You are welcome to stay for both days, but will need to pay registration for each day separately.
Can I switch between Ad and Circ sessions at the Magazine Publishers conference?
Yes. You may attend any combination of the Ad and Circ sessions during the one-day Magazine Publishers conference.
Will the New York and Chicago Conference be the same?
Yes, the Chicago conferences will be repeats of the New York conferences.
Can I stay both days for a single registration rate?
Unfortunately, no. Your registration fee covers the room, audio visual and food & beverage expenses for a single day. You are welcome to stay for both events, but you will need to register for each separately.
What food and beverage arrangements can I expect at the conference?
Coffee service in the morning and afternoon, and a boxed lunch included in your registration fee. Breakfast and Dinner will not be provided this year.
When can we expect more information on the content of these conferences?
Expect to see Session Titles in early April, with more to follow soon thereafter.
Will MSGL staff be available to meet with me/my company before or after the conferences?
Yes. We will be happy to meet with you before or after the conference. Please make arrangements with Greta Douglas.
Is it alright if I travel in and out the same day?
Yes. We are working out the details of an agenda that will allow you time to travel in and out of the conference on the same day. This should be ideal for customers who work in or around New York and/or Chicago.
Will the hotel hold a large room block for this year? Can I make reservations if I plan on staying for a night or two?
The Ritz-Carlton in Westchester is a boutique hotel and does not have a lot rooms. We have reserved a room block for customers who would like to stay one or more nights at an exceptionally low rate. The room block will be held through June 1, or until all rooms are booked, and it will be managed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
